Share your priorities for future regionwide transit via Sound Transit’s 5-minute survey
From this webpage on Sound Transit’s site: Capital and operating costs have risen significantly since voters approved the Sound Transit 3 Plan in 2016, and they’re continuing to escalate faster than contemplated 10 or even five years ago. ST3 includes light rail extensions to West Seattle, Ballard, Tacoma, and Everett, new service between South Kirkland and Issaquah, and much more. If the agency does nothing to counter these rising costs, combined with lower revenue projections, completing Sound Transit’s expansion program will become unaffordable. Current estimates show a long-term funding gap of approximately $34.5 billion over the next 20 years. To fulfill the vision for regionwide transit that voters approved in ST3, we must adapt, and we want to hear from you. Take the survey to share your priorities.
