NORTHWEST DISTRICT COUNCIL
The Northwest District Council covers an area roughly bounded by Wallingford on the south, Ballard to our west, NE 145th Street to our north, and I-5 to the east, but includes part of some communities beyond those guideline.

He is a police officer and a member of the Community Police Team (CPT) for the majority of Greenwood. He is your contact for questions or comments about long-term neighborhood safety.

- Bi/ped Safety Coalition: a volunteer organization advocating for the safe mobility of pedestrians, bicyclists, and transit riders.
- Greenwood Aurora Involved Neighbors (GAIN): a volunteer group of active neighbors working together to enhance community and decrease crime in the area around the Aurora Corridor north of Woodland Park.
- Greenwood Neighborhood Lookout: a web blog that records and posts criminal activity within a localized boundary (between Greenwood and Aurora, and between N 85th and N 80th)
- Seattle Neighborhood Map: an interactive (GIS) map of Seattle that identifies criminal statistics by neighborhood.
- Seattle Police North Precinct: the Seattle Police’s north precinct website.
- Seattle Police – Safety & Crime Prevention: a list of suggestions from Seattle Police for safety and crime prevention.
- Seattle Police – Report a Crime: information on identifying and reporting crime (drug activity, missing persons, etc.)
- Municipal License Plate Records: court records that can identify car owners with court records by their license plate number
- SNAP Disaster Preparedness: information to help neighbors survive and remain self-sufficient after a disaster

URBAN DEVELOPMENT
- Greenwood Sidewalks: a grassroots volunteer neighborhood group working on a plan to make it easier, faster, and cheaper to get our neighborhood connected with sidewalks
- Vision Greenwood Park: a volunteer group advocating and visioning for the future use of the four properties adjoining and East of Greenwood park along Fremont avenue.
- City Council Planning, Land Use and Neighborhoods Committee (PLUNC): a Seattle City Council Committee to deliberate and make recommendations on legislative matters relating to growth and the urban environment, including comprehensive planning, zoning, design, and land use regulations.
SOCIAL / PERSONAL AND PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT
- Boys and Girls Club: a non-profit organization to inspire and enable all young people, especially those who need us most, to realize their full potential as productive, responsible, and caring citizens.
- Greenwood Phinney Chamber of Commerce: a non-profit organization formed to stimulate the growth and development of the Greenwood-Phinney business community.
- Phinney Neighborhood Association (PNA): a non-profit community organization founded in 1980 by Phinney neighbors to build community.

- Greenwood Discussion Yahoo Group: an unmoderated blog in which folks concerned about the Greenwood or Phinney Neighborhoods in Seattle can talk about issues of interest to them.
- Greenwood News Yahoo Group: a moderated blog listing news of interest to residents of Seattle’s Greenwood neighborhood.
- Phinneywood: a news blog for Seattle’s Phinney Ridge and Greenwood neighborhoods.
- Phinney Ridge Blog: also a news blog for Seattle’s Phinney Ridge and Greenwood neighborhoods.
GOVERNMENT
- Department of Neighborhoods: a Seattle City department to bring government closer to the residents of Seattle by engaging them in civic participation.
- City Neighborhood Council: a volunteer citizen group to provide city-wide coordination for the Neighborhood Matching Fund, Neighborhood Budget Prioritization, and Neighborhood Planning programs.
- Greenwood Neighborhood Service Center: the northwest service center established to link neighborhoods with the City.
- Puget Sound Clean Air Agency: air quality information, including burn bans.
- Seattle City Council: elected City officials to establish City policy through enactment of ordinances (laws) and adoption of resolutions and also approves and adopts the City’s budget.
